The Municipality of San Remigio in Antique sought support from the Department of Natural Resources to establish the Special Ecotourism Economic Zone (ESEZ). This plan will encompass three barangays within the area.
San Remigio Mayor Margarito Mission Jr., together with Municipal Environment and Natural Resources (MENRO) chief Ruth Martinez, coordinates with DENR Secretary Raphael Lotilla to implement the project proposal.
Moreover, the DENR is equipped to establish a joint venture with the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) for technical support for establishing the ESEZ and to invite investors.
This project is anticipated to boost tourism, local livelihood, and revenue for the municipality of San Remigio.
