[“Under the banner of Laban Manggagawa, there are 20,000 workers and ordinary Filipinos to gather in Welcome Rotonda and march through España, going to Mendiola.”]
The group will start to march along España at 7:00 AM. Upon reaching the area, they will join forces with the National Wage Coalition and will go together to Mendiola.
Rep. San Fernando believes that regardless of political beliefs and colors, all workers experience the same struggles.
“Kesyo kayo ay maka-Duterte, maka-BBM, pinklawan, o dilawan, lahat tayo ay mga manggagawa na pare-parehas ang hirap na dinaranas,” he said
[“Whether you are pro-Duterte, pro-BBM, pinklawan, or dilawan, we are all workers experiencing the same struggles.”]
He added that all workers are affected by the rising costs of bills, goods, and services.
“Pag tumama yung taas presyo doon sa bill natin sa kuryente, tsaka sa presyo ng produktong petrolyo, tsaka sa bilihin at mga serbisyo, hindi naman nagtatanong yan eh kung sinong binoto mong Presidente o sinong manok mo sa 2028. Lahat tayo apektado.” he said
[“When the price hikes hit our electricity bills, petroleum products, goods, and services, they don’t ask for the President you voted for or who will be your candidate in 2028. We are all affected.”]

The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) calls on private colleges and universities to defer their plan to increase the tuition fee.
According to CHED Chairperson Dr. Shirley Agrupis, “this is not the right time to increase tuition fee.”
This is the response of the commission to the requests from private schools to raise tuition fees for the upcoming school year.
While the CHED understands the operating expenses of the private educational institutions, the commission remains firm in its decision to postpone tuition hikes amidst the current crisis.
Additionally, the budget for state universities and colleges for the academic year 2026 to 2027 has already been concluded.
“We have already presented to DBM, but that is only for government-funded,” Dr. Agrupis said
