The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) warns the public regarding several areas in the country that may potentially experience ‘danger level’ heat index. The high temperature came from the Easterlies or the warm winds blowing from the Pacific Ocean.
Temperatures under the danger level heat index range from 42 to 51° C.
Starting May 1, temperatures will reach 43°C in the following areas:
- Dagupan City, Pangasinan
- Subic Bay, Zambales
- Olongapo City, Zambales
- Sangley Point, Cavite
While the 42°C will be felt in:
- Laoag City, Ilocos Norte
- Bacnotan, La Union
- Aparri, Cagayan,
- Camiling Tarlac
- San Jose, Occidental Mindoro
- Virac, Catanduanes
- Masbate City, Masbate
- Dumangas, Iloilo
- La Granja, La Carlota City, Negros Occidental

According to PAGASA, under a ‘danger level’ heat index, prolonged exposure to heat may lead to heat cramps or heat exhaustion. If not addressed immediately, it may result in heat stroke.
Additionally, the agency advises limiting outdoor activities to prevent heat-related illness.
