Over 100,000 police officers and force multipliers will be deployed on May 1, 2026, or Labor Day.
The Philippine National Police (PNP) has been placed on heightened alert to ensure security during the holiday. A status will remain effective until May 2, 2026. Under heightened alert status, the PNP has suspended all leave applications to ensure a sufficient force for monitoring.
According to PNP PIO Chief PBGen. Randulf Tuaño, three groups may potentially hold rallies on that day.
Potential protest sites include the US Embassy, University of the Philippines - Diliman, Welcome Rotonda, and the Department of Social Welfare and Development office.
