There are 175 personnel from the Philippine National Police (PNP HPG) to deploy to provide security for the upcoming ASEAN Summit in Cebu.
These personnel will be turned over to the Presidential Security Command in Malacañang before being transferred to Cebu on April 9, 2026.
According to the PNP HPG, deployed personnel consisted of 108 riders, 38 drivers, 24 crews, and 5 convoy officers. The unit is also preparing 38 mobile units and 108 motorcycles.
PNP HPG Acting Director PBGen. Rommel Batangan assured that both vehicles and personnel have undergone inspections, and they are prepared to intensify security in the event.
PBGen. Batangan also reminded the personnel to be careful and maintain the highest level of discipline on duty.
“Mag-ingat sila sa pagganap po ng tungkulin nila. Disiplina, ang pangalawa. At the same time, sabi ko nga, shino-showcase natin hindi lang yung HPG at hindi lang yung PNP kundi yung Philippine government,” he said
[“They must be careful in the performance of their duties. Discipline, secondly. At the same time, as I’ve said, we are showcasing not only the HPG, not only the PNP, but also the entire Philippine government.”]
