National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) chief Melvin Matibag stated that he is ready to testify at any time in the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte.

According to Matibag, he will only expose the matters based on the documents and evidence from the NBI. He also clarified that he doesn’t have to wait for a subpoena if he appears voluntarily before the impeachment court.

“Kung voluntary ka namang pupunta, hindi naman na kailangan ng subpoena,” he said

[“If you are appearing voluntarily, a subpoena is no longer necessary.”]

Matibag also requested that he can attend as early as possible because he is set to attend an international anti-scam summit in Thailand.

Nevertheless, he emphasized that he respects the impeachment court and will comply with whatever schedule it sets.
