The House prosecution panel stated that they also want the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte to be concluded as quickly as possible. This was confirmed by the prosecution’s legal spokesperson Atty. Benjamin Tolosa.

“We'll do our part, making sure that this could be expedited; again, to the extent reasonably possible. Syempre hindi din naman usapan dito ang pabilisan ano? Importante din dito mailatag nang mabuti ang ebidensya dahil napakaseryoso ng pinag-uusapan natin ng mga charges dito. So, but at the same time, we're cognizant of that fact na gusto natin pare-pareho matapos 'to sa mas madaling panahon. So susubukan  natin yan. Pipilitin ho natin yan,” he said

When asked if it is possible to present two witnesses a day, Tolosa said it would depend on the witness and how long the examinations take.

“Yes. But again, we will see syempre depende yan per witness basis. Depende  kung gaano katagal ang aabutin nung sa kanyang direct examination, cross examination at kung papayagan or if necessary magka-conduct pa kami ng redirect. Sila din pwede pang mag-recross,” he said

For Article IV, which covers grave threats and inciting to sedition, the prosecution was given 11 days to present the witnesses, according to Tolosa.

While they recognize the sentiments of some Senator-judges, the prosecution does not want to sacrifice the opportunity to properly present the evidence against the Vice President.

“But we hear the sentiment of some of the Senator-judges that it will be better to abbreviate the proceedings at kami din naman  gusto din naman namin ‘tong matapos sa lalong madaling panahon. Ayaw na naman namin ‘tong patagalin unnecessarily, but of course without sacrificing our ability to properly, efficiently, and effectively present evidence,” he said

Tolosa also stated that some witnesses listed in the pre-trial brief might no longer be called to stand if their intended testimonies have already been stated by the preceding witnesses to accelerate the proceedings.

“Maaari yung mga ibang witnesses na listed sa aming pre-trial brief ay hindi na namin ipatawag kung ang intended testimony nila ay natalakay na nung mga naunang testigo dahil yan naman ang goal din natin, kung maaaring mas mapaiksi, mapabilis natin ‘tong paglilitis na ‘to, we will try to do that," he said
