The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) launched a campus career caravan in different universities nationwide on January 22, 2026.
The caravan debuted at MAPUA University, offering positions from the sectors of accounting and engineering for fresh grads and alumni.
This initiative aligns with the Executive directive to address the corruption in DPWH.
DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon admits the department worries about launching the job fair because of the existing issues in flood control projects.
“Nung sinimulan namin itong plano na mag-job fair this year, medyo kabado kami nang konti. Kasi alam niyo naman na napakainit ng DPWH nitong mga nakaraang buwan. And we were actually very nervous, baka mapahiya lang kami kung walang mag-aapply.” he said
Fortunately, the outcome exceeds the expectation.
“At least, dito sa Mapua, lumagpas na ata tayo sa ine-expect nating inaasahang mag-apply.” he added
Sec. Dizon also recognizes and appreciates the strong enthusiasm of the youth in serving the nation despite the negative news and challenges faced by the agency.
As of 9:30 AM, more than 100 applicants participated in the job fair.
After Mapua, the DPWH also plans to visit the University of the Philippines, De La Salle University, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, and more.
