Baguio City recorded 41 confirmed cases of COVID-19 from January 1 to July 9, 2026.

According to City Health Services Office (CHSO), the situation remains controllable, but the public must still take precautions as the season for respiratory illness begins.

The city also logged 1,480 cases of influenza-like illnesses (ILI), with 312 hospitalizations and zero deaths recorded so far.

“It is really a cause of alarm kasi nga always naman pag may increase tayo ng cases alarm alarming talaga,” said Dr. Celia Flor Brillantes, City Health Officer

[“It is really cause of alarm because whenever we have an increase in cases, it is always alarming.”]

“Now is a flu season kaya sumasabay din siya sa mga other flu cases natin,” she added

[“Now is a flu season, so (COVID-19) is coinciding with our other flu cases.”]

Although there is no active contract tracing for COVID-19, the CHSO noted that the actual case count could be higher since some individuals remain asymptomatic. Consequently, residents are advised to wear face masks in crowded or enclosed areas, especially if they are experiencing a cough, cold, and fever.

Meanwhile, the city health office reported that dengue cases remain lower compared to the same period last year. Nevertheless, residents are still reminded to keep their surroundings clean and eliminate potential mosquito breeding sites.
