The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has provided P10,000 pesos in financial assistance to every 126 affected patients at Sarangani Provincial Hospital due to the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck the province.

They also extended financial assistance to General Santos City, reaching 295 patients from Dr. Jorge P. Royeca Hospital.

Aside from financial assistance, the agency also provided food for mothers who gave birth in the same hospitals.

“Personnel from the Department’s Field Offices also distributed ready-to-eat food (RTEF) boxes to mothers who gave birth staying in the obstetrics wards of both Sarangani Provincial Hospital and Dr. Jorge P. Royeca Hospital,” according to DSWD
