Fifty-seven Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) graduated from specialized short courses at the University of the Philippines - Open University (UPOU).

This educational achievement is a part of the Workforce Development Program of the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) for the PDLs.

The majority of the graduates completed the specialized courses in Digital Literacy and Principles of Graphic Design.

The BuCor believes that in spite of challenges, education has a significant contribution to seek hope and reintegration.

“This program stands as a testament to the belief that, despite the challenges posed by incarceration, education can serve as a beacon of hope and a pathway to reintegration to society,” from the issued statement of BuCor.
