Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano has responded regarding the actions that should be taken concerning Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa. 

For Cayetano, all legal remedies within the Philippines should be used first; the investigation should also take place locally rather than internationally.

"We respect their opinion, but Senator Bato should be given the opportunity to exhaust all legal remedies. It should be a Philippine warrant,” he said

The Senate Leader also noted that Dela Rosa could be investigated here in the Philippines regarding Extra-Judicial Killings (EJKs) during the administration of former President Rodrigo Duterte.

“This is not a matter of whether he is guilty o hindi. In fact, they can be investigated here for the Extra Judicial Killings,” he added
