PASAY CITY—The Philippine Senate unanimously adopted Resolution No. 34 on Tuesday, February 3 to officially commend Aurora Gaming PH for their historic victory at the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) M7 World Championship.
The team, led by Finals MVP Dylan “Light” Catipon, received a standing ovation in the chamber following their dominant 4-0 sweep against Indonesia’s Alter Ego in Jakarta last January.
Senators lauded the squad for extending the Philippines' unparalleled dominance in the sport, marking the country’s sixth consecutive world title and securing a $320,000 grand prize.
Authored by Senator Bam Aquino, the resolution highlights the "exceptional skill, teamwork, and discipline" displayed by players Edward, Demonkite, Yue, Domeng, and Light.
During the plenary session, lawmakers emphasized that the team’s triumph reinforces the Philippines' status as the global epicenter of mobile esports.
The victory not only broke viewership records with over 5.6 million peak viewers but also served as a testament to the growing legitimacy and competitive fire of Filipino digital athletes on the world stage.
