PAGASA: Several areas may experience 38°C to 44°C on May 6, 2026

Several areas in the Philippines may experience extreme caution to danger level heat index on May 6, 2026, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA). 

The agency has released a list of areas that may be affected by the intense heat.

The following provinces may experience a 44°C heat index:

  • Aborlan, Palawan
  • Virac, Catanduanes
  • Mambusao, Capiz
  • Iloilo City, Iloilo

A heat temperature of 43°C will be felt in:

  • Dagupan, Pangasinan
  • Tuguegarao, Cagayn
  • Echague, Isabela
  • Dumangas, Iloilo
  • Baybay, Leyte
  • Borongan, Eastern Samar

While 42°C is expected in the following areas: 

  • Laoag, Ilocos Norte
  • Bacnotan, La Union
  • Aparri, Cagayan
  • Camiling, Tarlac
  • Cuyo, Palawan
  • Pili, Camarines Sur
  • Roxas City, Capiz
  • Zamboanga City, Zamboanga
  • Davao City, Davao del Sur
  • Cotabato Coty, Maguindanao del Norte
  • Butuan City, Agusan Del Norte

In Metro Manila, some areas may experience an extreme caution heat index:

  • 40°C NAIA Pasay City
  • 38°C Science Garden, Quezon City

According to PAGASA, the exposure under extreme caution (34°C to 41°C) or danger level (42°C to 51°C) may be prone to heat cramps or heat exhaustion. If not addressed immediately, it may lead to heat stroke.
