MANILA— The PNP Lady Patrollers finally arrested their consecutive losses, pulling off a gritty comeback victory against the DFA Emissaries in UVL Season 4 yesterday, April 15 at the Paco Arena.
After enduring back-to-back heartbreaking losses to the PhilHealth Health Insurers and the BFP Lady Firefighters, the Lady Patrollers showed renewed resolve to stabilize their campaign, sweeping off the Emissaries in three straight sets (29-27, 25-18, 25-23).
The win proved vital for the law enforcers, so they ultimately outlasted the diplomats in a high-stakes battle of momentum.
Princess Joy Oliveros emerged as the hero of the match, earning Best Player of the Game honors for her steady leadership and clutch scoring.
Oliveros anchored the PNP defense and provided the necessary offensive spark whenever DFA threatened to pull away.
Her composure in the final set served as the anchor for a team that had looked uncharacteristically shaken in their previous outings, ensuring they wouldn't leave the Paco Arena with a third consecutive defeat.
In a post-game interview with Ms. Rheena Villamor-Camara, Oliveros emphasized the emotional weight of the victory, admitting that the team's confidence had taken a hit during their recent losses.
“Kailangan po namin ibalik yung morale namin kasi past few games namin parang wala kami sa composure namin”, Oliveros said.
"We really need to get our morale back because, in our past few games, it felt like we lost our composure", Oliveros said.
With this win, the Lady Patrollers look to regain their championship form as they go down to their last two games in the preliminaries.
