Cases of eight focus crimes dropped by 29.75% in the third quarter of 2026, compared to last year, based on the records of the Philippine National Police (PNP) from July to September 2026.

This represents a reduction of 3,036 cases, equivalent to a 29.75% decrease.

Based on the data provided by the PNP, there were declines recorded across focus crime categories in September 2026 compared to 2025.

Carnapping of motor vehicles had the smallest decline, from 26 to 11 cases, while rape cases were down by 57.26% from 723 to 309. Substantial reductions were also logged in physical injury cases, down 44.60% from 417 to 231, and motorcycle carnapping, which fell 43.46% from 214 to 121. Theft cases dropped 31.72% from 1,176 to 803, while robbery incidents fell 24.40% from 336 to 254. Homicide cases recorded a slight decrease of 5.15%, down from 97 to 92.

*However, murder rose by 2.11% from 237 to 242 cases.

Despite the recorded decline in focus crime, PNP Chief PGen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. reminded that police operations and campaigns must continue to maintain peace and order across the country.
