MANILA, Philippines — Filipino passport holders who frequently travel to Australia can apply for a visitor visa valid for up to 10 years, allowing multiple trips for tourism, family visits, and permitted business activities without applying for a new visa before every visit.
The Australian Department of Home Affairs confirms that the Philippines is among 11 countries whose citizens are eligible for the Visitor visa (subclass 600) under the Frequent Traveller stream.
However, the visa does not allow Filipinos to remain in Australia continuously for 10 years. Each entry is limited to three months, with additional restrictions on the total time visitors may spend in the country.

Under the Frequent Traveller stream, approved visitors may enter Australia repeatedly while their visa remains valid.
Each visit must not exceed three months, and the total period spent in Australia must not exceed 12 months within any 24-month period.
For example, a Filipino granted a 10-year visa could make several short trips to Australia over the years, provided the traveler complies with the permitted stay periods and other visa conditions.
The visa's actual validity period will be specified in the approval notice, as not every successful application is necessarily granted the full 10 years.
Who can apply for the 10-year visa?
The program is available to eligible passport holders from the Philippines, Brunei, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam.
Applicants must demonstrate that they are genuine temporary visitors and have sufficient funds to cover their stay and departure from Australia.
They must also satisfy applicable health, character, and immigration requirements.
The visa permits holidays, visits to relatives or friends, and certain business visitor activities, including attending meetings or conferences.
It does not authorize employment in Australia or provide a pathway to permanent residence on its own.
Applicants must be outside Australia when submitting the application and when immigration officials decide whether to grant the visa.
How much does the visa cost?
According to the Australian Department of Home Affairs, the Frequent Traveller stream carries an application charge of AUD 1,845, substantially higher than the standard Visitor visa Tourist stream for applicants outside Australia, which starts at AUD 250.
Additional expenses may apply for medical examinations, police certificates, biometrics, and payment processing.
For Filipinos who expect to visit Australia regularly, the longer visa validity could reduce the need to submit repeated visitor visa applications.
However, approval is not guaranteed, and the full 10-year validity remains subject to Australian immigration assessment.
How to apply
Filipino travelers can submit applications online through ImmiAccount, the Australian government's official immigration platform.
Applicants should prepare a valid passport, documents explaining their travel purpose, evidence of financial capacity, and other supporting requirements requested during the application process.
The Department of Home Affairs also requires applicants under the Frequent Traveller stream to provide biometric information at an Australian Biometric Collection Centre.
Each family member must lodge a separate application, including children traveling with their parents.
The department currently does not publish a specific processing-time estimate for this visa stream.
Travelers are encouraged to review the latest visa conditions, fees, and application requirements through the Australian Department of Home Affairs before submitting their applications.
