The Department of Labor and Employment encourages the private sector to participate in the 4-day workweek schedule initiated by various government agencies in the country.
DOLE Spokesperson Assistant Secretary Atty. Lennard Constantine Serrano noted that the guidelines for the condensed workweek schedule have existed since 2004.
Another option is the work-from-home setup, effective via RA 11165 or the Telecommuting Act of 2018.

The 4-day workweek schedule has extended hours, while the work-from-home schedule has the same working hours as the on-site schedule.
Atty. Serrano also mentioned making sure that the benefits remain fair.
“Dapat pantay, patas po ang mabibigay for work, the same work performed, same benefits, same wages po,”
MERALCO Head of Utility Economics Lawrence Hernandez mentioned that the electricity demand from the establishments may transfer to the residential structures, which is why it encourages both sectors to conserve electricity consumption.
