Filipino gymnast Karl Eldrew Yulo continued his impressive rise in the senior ranks by capturing the bronze medal in the floor exercise finals at the FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Cup in Cairo, Egypt, on Sunday, April 5, 2026.
The 18-year-old phenom battled through a lingering ankle injury to post a resilient score of 14.000, securing a spot on the podium behind gold medalist Daniel Marinov and silver winner Arsenii Dukhno.
This victory marks Yulo’s second major medal in as many months, following his golden breakthrough at the Antalya leg in March.
The young star’s campaign in Cairo is far from over as he shifts his focus to the horizontal bar finals today, April 6.
After qualifying in third place for the apparatus with a score of 13.466, Yulo enters the final day of competition as a top contender for another podium finish.
As the younger brother of two-time Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo, Eldrew is rapidly carving out his own legacy, proving his mettle against an elite international field while solidifying his status as a cornerstone of Philippine gymnastics.
