Resignation is not included in the choices of Vice President Sara Duterte; this was clarified by defense spokesperson Atty. Michael Poa.

This is the response of the defense following the rumors that the Vice President might step down from her post.

Despite the speculation, the defense spokesperson declined to respond to the remarks of House prosecutor Rep. Terry Ridon, claiming that the trial is heading toward the ‘exciting part’.

“Papunta pa lang tayo sa exciting part guys. Papasok na yung AMLC Records, saka yung BIR records, saka yung bank records,” Ridon said

“He's entitled to his own opinion, and I respect his opinion whether it be for us or against us. But yung sa amin naman po, never pa namin napag-usapan ng ating bise presidente yung resignation,” Poa said

Recently, House Prosecution Panel member Rep. Kaka Bag-ao claimed that there were discussions regarding the alleged plans of the Vice President to resign.

“We want to address the growing rumors that Vice President Sara Duterte might soon resign from her post in an attempt to halt the ongoing impeachment trial,” she said

Meanwhile, Atty. Poa clarified that the defense team had ‘no hand’ in the request of the Office of the Vice President to the Senate to cover the food and beverages expenses.

He stated that he was only aware that there were administrative matters discussed between the OVP and the Senate Secretary, but he cannot identify the details of that meeting.

“Kasi that is an OVP letter and the defense team has no participation in that letter. So baka best directed to the Office of the Vice President kasi hindi naman kami kasama doon sa pagpupulong,” he said

On July 22, Poa noted that their team’s food and drink supply remains sufficient and is not funded by the Senate.
