A 7.6-magnitude earthquake jolted Davao Oriental at 9:43 AM today (October 10, 2025). The epicenter was located 62 kilometers southeast of Manay, Davao Oriental, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) confirmed. Aftershocks and a possible tsunami are highly expected.

Residents in the following locations are advised to evacuate immediately:

EASTERN SAMAR
DINAGAT ISLANDS
DAVAO ORIENTAL
SOUTHERN LEYTE
SIRUGAO DEL NORTE
LEYTE
SURIGAO DEL SUR

PHIVOLCS warned to expect wave heights of more than 1 meter above the normal tides.
