US President Donald Trump suggested renaming the state of New Mexico to ‘New America’.

On his Truth Social platform, Trump posted an AI-generated video and stated that many people allegedly support changing the state’s name, adding that New America would be a better replacement.

He also posted a map of the United States featuring the state labeled as New America.

Democratic officials in New Mexico opposed the proposal and accused Trump of trying to distract public attention from war in Iran and rising fuel costs.
