Pinuna ng ilang senator-judges ang timing ng pag-anunsyo ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) ng pagsisiyasat sa umano'y iregularidad sa 2019 Southeast Asian Games.

Ayon kay Senator-Judge Alan Peter Cayetano, maaaring maapektuhan nito ang integridad ng Impeachment Court dahil inihayag ang imbestigasyon bago pa tumestigo si NBI Director Melvin Matibag sa nagpapatuloy na impeachment trial.
