Senate President Sherwin Gatchalian reminded that the Senate is sacred, as this is the venue of important discussions of current issues and lawmaking.

“Ang session hall at ang Senado ay sagrado ito dahil dito natin ginagawa marami sa mahalaga nating batas mga, pinag-uusapan nating mahalagang issue,” he said

The response was made following the wacky photo of the prosecution taken in the Senate impeachment court before the announcement of a 3-week break.

“Dapat respetuhin itong institusyon na ito at hindi naman tama na may ginagawa kang katawa-tawa sa loob ng ating institusyon,” SP Gatchalian said

The Senate President will also confirm if the photo was really taken in the Senate to make sure that the photo is not AI-generated or edited on editing platforms.

“Pinapa-check ko sa CCTV kung totoo yun kasi ngayon uso AI,” he said

“I want to make sure lang na hindi AI yun, hindi yun ginawa lang sa Photoshop,” he added

Meanwhile, Lead Public Prosecutor Rep. Gerville Luistro confirmed that the wacky photo is not AI-generated and is authentic. She stated that it’s not their intention to make fun of the Senate and emphasized their deep respect for the institution.

Luistro also explained that they took a formal picture before the wacky version. She also stated that their wacky pose shows their genuine joy and excitement after more than three months of presenting the evidence and witnesses, then finally they will have a break.
