Minority Senators Risa Hontiveros, Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, Vicente “Tito” Sotto, Panfilo “Ping” Lacson, and Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aquino have filed proposed Senate Resolution 395, urging Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa to surrender to authorities following the arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC).

The resolution states that the Senate doesn’t have the authority to grant protective custody.

For Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano, all legal remedies within the Philippines should be used first. 

“Senator Bato should be given the opportunity to exhaust all legal remedies,” he said

In an interview, Sen. Bato dela Rosa responded to the resolution filed by the minority, saying:

"Hindi ko pa nabasa. Pero kung ang meant niyan ay pag-surrender, makiusap rin ako sa kanila na huwag masyado kayong atat na atat na makulong ako. Hintayin lang ninyo. Pabigyan lang niyo ako ng tsansa na i-avail yung remaining legal remedies na puwede kong i-avail. So, huwag din silang atat na atat."
