A global online platform, Roblox, may face a potential ban if it fails to fulfill its commitment to the Philippine government to address safety concerns over Filipino children.
During a hearing of the Senate Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations and Gender Equality on April 14, 2026, Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) Executive Director Aboy Paraiso noted that the suspension of the platform ban is only temporary.
Paraiso emphasized that despite Roblox being a global entity, it has an obligation to recognize and comply with the Philippine laws designated to protect users, particularly children.
If Roblox fails to fulfill its commitment to the authority in identifying those involved in online crime through its platform, then the CICC considers that as a neglect of its commitment to the Philippine government.
“For example, we report something, they fail to take action, or we subpoena someone, and they fail to give us the credentials of that threat actor or criminal online using their platform, then that’s the failure of their commitment to the Philippine government,” Exec. Director Paraiso said at the hearing
