House Majority Leader and Presidential son Sandro Marcos’ transfer to Lakas-CMD has no connection to the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte, according to Batangas 2nd District Rep. Gerville Luistro.
“Wala namang connection siya doon sa ating na-foresee or possible na appointment ng vice president in the event na magkaroon ng conviction. I don't see any relation, as a matter of fact, between him joining Lakas CMD and the impeachment trial that is going on,” Luistro said
Luistro believes that Marcos’ transfer into the party will be a big help for the Lakas-CMD. This comes amid the detention of Lakas-CMD President and former House Speaker Rep. Martin Romualdez.
“Of course, we needed somebody to take care of Lakas CMD, including our party mates. And I am, in fact, thankful to Majo, Congressman Sandro Marcos, for joining Lakas-CMD party because this has been my national party since the time of Speaker Martin Romualdez,” she said
Meanwhile, Palace Press Officer Usec. Claire Castro stated that President Bongbong Marcos Jr. trusts the decision of his son regarding the transfer.
“Ang desisyon ng kaniyang anak ay nagtitiwala ang pangulo. So kung ano man ang gagawin ng kanyang anak, ito ay kanyang pinagkakatiwalaan na tama ang anumang aksyon ng kanyang anak,” Castro said
