Private prosecutor Atty. Lorna Kapunan believes that OVP Chief of Staff Atty. Zuleika Lopez and retired AFP Captain Belinda Bello are no longer needed to testify in the article of impeachment concerning an alleged assassination plot, grave threats, and inciting sedition.

“We will defer to the decision of the public prosecutors kasi we’re just private prosecutors, but if I were asked, it is not necessary for this article,” she said

However, Lopez could still be called to testify on other articles of impeachment, according to Kapunan.

She also believes that Vice President Sara Duterte is no longer needed to testify in this article.

Atty. Kapunan clarified that the final decision to drop the three witnesses will depend on the House prosecutors.
