The Philippine National Police (PNP) has announced the deployment of 55,507 personnel nationwide who will be on duty to intensify security in the opening of School Year 2026 to 2027.
On the data provided by the PNP, there are 28,751 personnel who will come from the PNP, 4,079 from other units, and 22,677 will serve as force multipliers.
The PNP will also deploy different units to monitor specific concerns, including:
- Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG) - for monitoring of cyberbullying, misinformation, and fake news
- Highway Patrol Group (HPG) - for traffic flow and safety of students and commuters
- EOD and K9 - to monitor and stay alert to possible threats
PNP Chief PGen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. stated that the efforts of PNP are not just a presence but an assurance to ensure that the school opening is safe.
“Importante sa amin na maramdaman ng bawat magulang at estudyante na ligtas sila sa kanilang pagpasok sa eskwela. Hindi lang ito presence—this is assurance. Nandito ang PNP, kasama ang komunidad, para tiyakin na maayos at payapa ang balik-eskwela,” he said via online-issued statement
