MANILA—The Pag-IBIG Fund Lady Smashers dominated the court at the Paco Arena on May 13, 2026, delivering a clinical 3-0 sweep against the DENR Lawin Spikers. 

The Lady Smashers left little room for their opponents to breathe, taking the sets with scores of 25-8, 25-13, and 25-15. 

This commanding performance not only showcased their offensive prowess but also solidified their momentum as they officially claimed the number 7 spot in the team standings heading into the second round of the UVL.

Hansel Bantiles emerged as the undeniable Best Player of the Game, spearheading the Lady Smashers' attack with 9 successful points that dismantled the DENR defense. 

Her composure at the net and ability to find gaps in the Lawin Spikers' formation kept Pag-IBIG firmly in control throughout the three-set match. 

The victory highlights a disciplined squad that is hitting its stride just as the competition intensifies for the next phase of the tournament.

Reflecting on the team's dominant display, Bantiles credited their success to a disciplined mindset and a return to fundamentals. 

“Nag-stick lang po kami sa system namin tapos kung nawawala po kami sa system is back to basic po,” she shared after the match. 

This "back to basics" approach proved lethal at the Arena, transforming the Lady Smashers into a cohesive unit that the DENR Lawin Spikers simply could not ground.
