NPA commander killed in CamSur clash

A New People’s Army (NPA) commander was killed in an encounter in Pamplona, Camarines Sur. 

Authorities identified the deceased commander as alias Verano, the leader of Platoon 1 of Kilusang Larangang Guerilla 2, sub-regional Committee 1 and Bicol Regional Party Committee.

The clash happened between the rebel group and the 91st Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army, which lasted for almost eight minutes.

The encounter occurred while the military was conducting a combat operation. 

An M563 rifle, also known as a ‘Baby Armalite ’, was recovered from the deceased commander.

Other rebels escaped from the authorities.
