The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) plans to use digital platforms to disburse cash relief assistance for drivers.
With this, the agency conducts a virtual summit with financial providers. According to DSWD, they expect cooperation from e-money issuers, mobile wallet operators, and financial technology providers at this meeting.
This initiative aims to eliminate long queues and make the distribution faster and more convenient for claimants.
Secretary Rex Gatchalian previously mentioned that the current manual or face-to-face distribution was implemented in the first tranche to ensure that the claimants are real drivers and truly exist.
“We have to have a form of validation and verification dahil ito yung unang bugso,” he said

Also, the agency stated that they need to review the data thoroughly, as the beneficiary lists came from external sources.
