The Department of Energy (DOE) speaks out their side against the circulating fake news regarding the energy lockdown on April 20, 2026.

According to the agency, there is no such lockdown, and they have not issued any announcements regarding that matter. The DOE calls on the public not to believe online posts about an energy lockdown, even those using the official logo of the agency.

“May kumakalat na mga post online tungkol sa umano’y “energy lockdown” na gumagamit ng logo ng Department of Energy,” paliwanag ng ahensya

There are also AI-generated videos regarding the same content that have also been circulating, and the DOE emphasized that it doesn’t originate from them.

PNP Chief PGen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. stated that they will track its sources, and the violators will face the consequences. He also noted they will not allow the spread to widen.

“The situation in the Middle East is a serious matter and any attempt to exploit it to trigger unwarranted panic among our kababayan must be addressed and dealt with. We will not allow this,” the PNP Chief said
