Siargao’s iconic Cloud 9 Tower has officially reopened following a major renovation, signaling a fresh era for the island’s globally celebrated surfing haven. Officials from the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), alongside local government leaders including Governor Lyndon Barbers and Mayor Johnson Y. Sajulga, gathered for the structure’s blessing ceremony.

The revitalized landmark stands as a proud symbol of Siargao's rich coastal heritage and ongoing surge in eco-tourism.

The revamped boardwalk structure will immediately face the international spotlight as it hosts the WSL Championship Tour Philippines Pro from October 31 to November 10.

The high-profile tournament draws top-tier professional surfers from across the globe to compete on Siargao’s famous barrel waves. With modern structural upgrades in place, the viewing deck offers an unmatchable vantage point for spectators and judges throughout the 11-day sporting spectacle.

Beyond serving as a competition hub, the rebuilt tower reinforces ongoing efforts to protect the island’s environment and secure its position as a world-class sports destination. Local leaders and sports officials view the landmark's revival as a crucial investment in Siargao's long-term tourism economy.

As opening day approaches, the Cloud 9 Tower stands ready to welcome both world-class athletes and everyday travelers to the surfing capital of the Philippines.
