Manila, Philippines – The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) has ordered Meralco to refund a total of 9.5 billion pesos to customers due to over-collection in electricity charges in 2025.

Based on the ERC's decision, this is equivalent to about 0.3449 centavos per kilowatt hour, which will be deducted from customers' bills over a period of six months.

According to the commission, the refund will be reflected as a separate item on the electricity bill, expected to begin in the next billing cycle. 

Meralco, for its part, said it is ready to comply with the ERC's order.
